John's Campervan

Back in the 90’s when Mazda and Ford were brothers in arms they shared this Japanese platform called the ’Bongo’.

 This is a Mazda Bongo/Ford Freda that was bough for family use. It’s ideal for the kids sleeping upstairs in the pop top, as they cannot fall out due to the access hatch design!

 When I first bought the Bongo, I ploughed more than my savings into this 90’s campervan, saving it from rusting away.

 Now it has;

• kitchen in the back
  
• Double bed down stairs
  
• double bed upstairs
  
• leisure battery for interior lights, radio and tap (on a split charge relay so you don’t have to worry about using all the juice up)
  
• curtains in the back
  
• electric blinds on both sides
  

It is a 25+ year old van but is great to drive and not often you’ll see another - but if you do, you have to give them a big Bongo Wave!

 This isn’t a £50,000 Volkswagen, but is just as much fun!
