Keith's Campervan

Black 'n' Blue started life as a Volkswagen T5, long wheelbase Kombi van. Then, having achieved the NCC Motorhome Service Award in 2019, I converted Black 'n' Blue from a Volkswagen T5 Kombi into a basic campervan with five belted seats.

My wife and I love attending VW festivals, where there are usually no electric hook-ups. So, I designed Black 'n' Blue to allow us to live off-grid in reasonable comfort for a few days. That said, Blue does have an electric hook-up facility as well. I designed Black 'n' Blue to be functional, uncluttered, and spacious, with enough amenities for a comfortable time away.

Pop-top with sleeping for 2 people, that when put down enables the van access to car parks (low - height, great for visiting other towns and venues)

Pull out bed to the rear that can sleep 2 people, and acts as seating during the day

Electric hook-up facility

Tower electric point with 3 plugs and 2 USB points

110 amp leisure battery

USB points (mains electric and 12 volt x 2/leisure battery powered x 2)

Swivel double passenger seat that can provide extra living space

Swivel table that can be used inside or outside

Fiamma pull-out awning

2 camping chairs provided

Small outdoor table with integral solar lighting provided

Microwave oven and electric induction hob provided (elctric hook-up only)

Portable 1 ring gas stove provided

Bike rack for 2 bikes (not electric bikes as they are too heavy)

Portable, chemical toilet

Sink with tap (cold water only)

10 litre water and waste tanks

Large cool-box that can run on mains electric or the 12 volt leisure battery

12 volt/battery powered LED lighting

Shower point that for use outdoors to clean wetsuits, muddy boots/dogs etc. (cold water)

Six-speed gearbox which gives a smooth drive and better fuel economy

Reverse parking sensors
