Maxime's Campervan

Let’s be honest—there are two types of travelers: the anxious ones who seek safety and comfort, and the adventurers! If you’re reading this, you clearly belong to the second category! Travel back in time with our awesome van straight out of the 80s.

Simple, robust, efficient, and minimalist, it’ll take you on a journey at its own pace, vanlife style! Allergic to expressways, this vehicle shines on forgotten backroads, helping you discover the most unexpected places. Its cruising speed is 80–90 km/h, but it can still reach 110 km/h if you enjoy the soothing hum of a diesel engine...

The van has a comfy fixed bed (140x190 cm — fits two adults and possibly a child), and a fold-out “comb” bed across the width of the van (140x70 cm mattress, 50 kg max). The Hiace seats 3 (legally registered), with two three-point seatbelts and a two-point lap belt in the middle.

I’ll lend you a Bluetooth speaker (no car radio), a folding table with four classic 80s-style stools (for the nostalgic ones), two 10L water jerrycans, and a camping stove (gas cartridge: €5, to be discussed before departure), along with kitchen utensils.

This van is our everyday vehicle (along with our bikes), and we often take it for getaways along the Rance river with our little one. I’d be happy to share tips and tricks to help you discover the joys of vanlife!

The van is parked in Saint Georges de Reintembault, 25 minutes from Fougères, 40 minutes from Mont Saint Michel, and about an hour from Saint Malo and the banks of the Rance...
