Kilmarnock's Dean Castle, dating back to the 14th century, houses one of Europe's finest collections of early musical instruments and medieval arms. Sitting at the heart of East Ayrshire, this Scottish town blends industrial heritage with green spaces and easy access to some of Scotland's most rewarding landscapes. The Dick Institute offers free galleries covering fine art, geology and local history, while Kay Park provides a peaceful retreat with its Burns Monument Centre dedicated to the poet Robert Burns, who published his first collection of poems here in 1786. Kilmarnock's compact town centre is straightforward to navigate, and the surrounding roads open up quickly to rolling Ayrshire countryside. Glasgow is just 36 km to the north-east, making day trips simple, while the Ayrshire coast at Troon lies only 11 km to the west, where sandy beaches and sea views await. The A77 and A71 provide smooth connections for larger vehicles heading south towards Dumfries and Galloway or east towards Edinburgh. With Yescapa, you can hire a campervan or motorhome directly from local owners in the area, giving you the flexibility to collect your vehicle nearby and set off at your own pace. Peer-to-peer hiring means a wider choice of vehicles and often friendlier prices than traditional depots, so whether you are planning a weekend escape or a longer Scottish adventure, Kilmarnock is a practical and rewarding place to begin.
Kilmarnock comes alive in summer, with the Kilmarnock Music Festival bringing live performances to the town each July. Late spring through to September offers the longest daylight hours, ideal for exploring Ayrshire's coast and countryside by campervan. Autumn brings the annual Ayrshire Real Ale Festival in nearby Troon, well worth a short detour. Booking through Yescapa during shoulder months like May or September can mean better availability and more competitive hire prices from local owners. Plan ahead for July and August to secure your preferred motorhome, as these are the busiest months across Scotland.

Kilmarnock offers several options for parking larger vehicles. The town centre has pay-and-display car parks, though height barriers may restrict motorhome access in some multi-storey facilities. For overnight stays, dedicated campervan and motorhome parking is more readily found at nearby coastal towns and campsites. Always check local signage for any restrictions on vehicle length or overnight stays before settling in.
Patrick was very friendly and went above and beyond his duty to make sure everything went smoothly. He even took us to the station after we dropped the van off. We would highly recommend him.
Foi tudo ótimo! Desde a efetivação do aluguer até ao momento da devolução e ainda depois.
Communication with Guillaume the owner was excellent. Always available to answer questions and give advice about travel destinations. The campervan was a perfect size for our first experience of this type of holiday. We used sites for our 7 night travel experience which worked well with electric/topping up water etc. Overall a great experience and would use this owner again.
Everything went smooth during the whole pick up and return process. The van has seen some life but everything was clean and in great working condition + the price was very competitive when comparing to anything else available at the time. Very enjoyable trip with the van, highly recommended
First class change over everything was explained in detail, beautifully clean just how it should be! The vehicle is a 2026 model so one of the newest I've seen available to hire! Yes I would hire again and highly recommend
